NOTICE: Due to Pride Fest taking place in Portland on Saturday, June 21st there will be a small change to the pickup location in Portland. Instead of picking up and dropping off on Monument Square, the bus will stop at Cumberland Street. Signage has been posted on-location. We apologize for the inconvenience. Normal service resumes on Sunday, June 22nd.

“The LAP” is the Maine Department of Transportation’s commuter bus service between Lewiston/Auburn and Portland. While the focus is on workforce transportation, this service is open for all trip purposes. Detailed scheduling information is available on this website and on the Token Transit app.

You can also use the app to buy tickets. Select "Buy Passes" and search for Lewiston Maine Commuter, Auburn Maine Commuter, Bates College Commuter, or Portland Maine Commuter. "The LAP." Drivers can also accept cash payments in exact amounts. The one-way fare is eight dollars.

 

“The LAP” is a two-year pilot commuter bus service that will serve as an indicator of the demand and potential market for enhanced public transportation between the Portland and Lewiston/Auburn regions. Service began on July 22, 2024. MaineDOT has contracted with RTW Management to provide the service. Contact RTW with any questions related to the service.
