Ellsworth - Beginning on Monday, June 13th, a 1.2 mile stretch of Route 1A in Ellsworth will be reconstructed from the Union River Bridge to Forest Avenue.
Crews will be working 24 hours a day between 7 p.m. Sunday nights through 7 p.m. Friday nights.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. One lane of alternating traffic is allowed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. on weekdays.
From June 15 to September 15, work will be suspended every weekend between 7 p.m. on Friday through 7 p.m. on Sunday.
The road reconstruction includes the creation of two four-way intersections as well as a center turn lane. In addition to the road reconstruction, Emera Maine will be installing utility poles and the city of Ellsworth will be upgrading its water and sewer utilities.
Work will be suspended in late fall, with an anticipated completion date of June, 2017.
