I-95 Traffic Sensors to be Installed in Carmel

Carmel ? On Tuesday, September 11th and Wednesday, September 12th, MaineDOT crews will be installing traffic counting sensors in the pavement on I-95 between mile marker 170 and 171 in Carmel.

This project will begin one mile north of Exit 169, ending approximately three and a half miles south of Exit 174. Between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day, traffic will be controlled with message boards and signs, allowing one lane of travel through the work zone.

Because this work is weather dependent, the rain date is set for Wednesday, September 13th.

This project supports our Traffic Monitoring Program, providing the number of vehicles utilizing the highway throughout the year as well as changes in travel patterns.
