Richmond ? A strut (large culvert) replacement will take place starting August 6th on US Route 197 in Richmond, approximately one quarter mile west of High School Drive.
This work requires a full closure of approximately 300 to 400 ft on US Route 197. Detour signs and message boards will help guide motorists away from the work zone. The signs will direct those coming from the Interstate to go in the opposite direction to US Route 201 onto Langdon Road, then right onto Alexander Reed Road, which leads back to Route 197. This detour is approximately two miles.
Utility crews will be working side by side with the contractor, Wyman & Simpson, as sewer and water lines are on top of the large culvert.
All work is expected to be completed by Friday, August 10th, opening back up to all thru traffic.
